Printmaking at Railyard: Monotype and Intaglio with Anthony Kirk

If you can push paint around with a brush then you can make unique one-of-a-kind prints. The class will first focus on monotype printmaking using Akua inks and water-soluble crayons. Midway through the session, we will begin to use a non-toxic  technique to make etchings. In this workshop we will create repeatable drypoint plates that can be inked and rolled using color monotype methods.  To warm-up on the first day we will begin with guided mark-making experiences which will serve as the basis for making drypoint lines into plastic plates. These plates will be inked in an intaglio manner and printed on dampened rag papers.
