LET'S COLLABORATE!
At Speedball, we believe that creativity is meant to be shared. For generations, artists around the world have trusted our tools to bring their visions to life. Now we’re excited to return the favor.
We’re opening our platform to support and spotlight the incredible artists who inspire us every day. Through social media takeovers, giveaways, content partnerships, and product collaborations, we help artists connect with wider audiences and tell their stories on a larger stage.
If you’re ready to grow your creative voice, engage with a passionate community, and share your art with new audiences, let’s build something together. Interested? Our contact information is at the bottom of this page.
TAKEOVERS
Takeovers are one of our favorite ways to collaborate because they’re simple, flexible, and designed to highlight what matters most: your work.
Whether you’re a printmaker, calligrapher, ceramicist, or a creative who works across mediums, takeovers let you connect with a new audience while staying true to your voice. You create the content, and we share it together across both your account and one of ours. We’ll support you every step of the way, so the experience feels seamless and collaborative.

PROCESS OVERVIEW – HOW DO I START?
Starting a takeover is easy. Here’s what it looks like from beginning to end:
-
Confirm your interest
Let one of our team members know you’re interested in collaborating. We’ll help match your content to the right Speedball account and pick dates that work best for your schedule.
- Plan your timeline
Once we lock in the takeover window, we’ll talk about your content plan. If you need a sample order for testing or creating new work, we’ll get that moving while the planning continues.
-
Kick things off
We’ll launch the takeover with a joint announcement post featuring a short intro and some of your past work. This helps our audience get to know you and builds momentum for your content.
-
Begin posting
From there, the stage is yours. Share your content directly to your account, and we’ll invite you to tag us as a collaborator. You can post Reels, carousels, lives, stories—whatever best showcases your process and voice. We recommend 2–4 posts per week, but there’s no strict rule.
We can also add giveaways or Paid Post Boosts to increase visibility and help your art reach even more people.
FORMAT – HOW DO COLLABORATOR POSTS WORK?
We use Instagram’s Collaborator Post feature, which allows your content to appear on both your profile and ours simultaneously. This means your work reaches your followers, our community, and beyond—all while keeping full credit attached to you as the original creator.
It doesn’t matter who initiates the post; as long as we’re tagged as a collaborator, the post will show up on both accounts. This also gives us flexibility in scheduling and content boosting.
LENGTH & DURATION – HOW LONG IS A TAKEOVER?
Most takeovers run for 4-5 days. This gives the audience enough time to engage with your content without making the process feel overwhelming.
We usually begin on a Monday and wrap on a Friday, but that’s not a hard rule. We’re happy to adjust based on what works for you.
SUBJECT & THEME – WHAT DO I POST?
There’s no required topic! You can share:
-
Process videos or behind-the-scenes looks
-
Finished pieces and past work
-
Teaching content or tips
-
Upcoming workshops or classes
-
Stories about your journey and inspiration
We’re here to help brainstorm if you want input, but you stay in control of your creative direction.
CONTENT & POSTING – WHAT SHOULD I SHARE?
Anything that represents your voice and vision:
-
Photos
-
Reels
-
Carousels
-
Stories
-
Live sessions
We typically recommend 2–4 posts per week to keep engagement strong, but that’s flexible. Quality matters more than quantity. Just let us know if you have a posting plan, or we can work on one together.
NOTES ON REELS & MUSIC USAGE
Instagram now converts all videos into Reels, which affects music availability. Because our accounts are Business Accounts, the music library is more limited than Creator Accounts.
To make sure your Reel can be shared as a collaborator post:
-
Use audio that’s licensed for Business Accounts
-
Or, edit your Reel in a third-party app with music already embedded in the video
PRODUCT INCLUSION – DO I HAVE TO USE SPEEDBALL PRODUCTS?
Including Speedball tools is encouraged but not required. If you use other products, that’s totally fine—just position them in a secondary or supporting role to stay in line with our brand guidelines.
We love seeing our products in action, but what matters most is your creative voice and how you tell your story.
TIME ZONE – WHEN SHOULD I POST IF I’M NOT IN THE U.S.?
We collaborate with artists around the globe and are happy to accommodate time zone differences. We generally avoid posting in early mornings or late nights in both your local time and U.S. Eastern Time.
We’ll work with you to schedule posts when your audience and ours are most active.
MATERIAL SUPPORT
At Speedball, we know the right tools can help unlock the best creative outcomes. That’s why we try to offer material support as part of our collaborations whenever possible. This may include sending select Speedball products to help you create new work, explore new techniques, or simply replenish supplies you already love. Material support is customized based on the nature of the collaboration, your creative process, and product availability. Whether you’re working in printmaking, calligraphy, or ceramics, we’ll do our best to provide tools that support your vision.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Once we confirm a collaboration, we’ll work together to identify any materials that could support your content. While we aim to include your requested items, please note that availability can vary depending on current inventory. In some cases, substitutions may be offered, or material support may not be available at all. We’ll always be transparent and do our best to align with your needs.
LEAD TIME
If material support is included, please allow a lead time of a few weeks from confirmation to delivery. During that time, we can move forward with planning your content, scheduling posts, and working through any creative direction or launch needs. If you already have Speedball products on hand, you’re welcome to begin creating ahead of time or even start the collaboration before your materials arrive.
TO ARRANGE MATERIAL SUPPORT
If we’re moving forward with material support, we’ll ask you for: full name, shipping address, phone number (for tracking only), and a short list of the tools or materials you’d like to include (or just the kind of work you’re planning). We’ll take it from there and keep you updated as things progress.

GIVEAWAYS
Giveaways are a fun and meaningful way to connect with the creative community and highlight the incredible artists we collaborate with. Whether it’s part of a takeover, a product showcase, or a special campaign, giveaways are a great way to build excitement and grow your audience.
We typically co-host giveaways with our collaborators, working together to create a simple, engaging experience that puts your work front and center.
HOW IT WORKS
We’ll coordinate with you to decide on the prize, entry rules, and timeline. Most giveaways follow this basic structure:
-
We co-announce the giveaway through a collaborative post
-
Participants follow both accounts, like the post, and comment or tag friends to enter
-
You (or Speedball) randomly select and announce the winner(s)
-
Prizes are shipped directly by Speedball unless we’ve agreed on another arrangement
PRIZES & SHIPPING
We’ll provide the prizes and usually ship them directly to the winners. If you prefer to receive the items yourself and handle shipping, we can accommodate that as well. Please note that international shipping is limited. Due to high costs and complex customs regulations, we are unable to ship to certain countries. We’ll confirm eligibility during the planning process so expectations are clear for everyone involved.
WINNER INFORMATION
If you’re announcing the winners, we’ll ask you to collect the following:
-
Full name
-
Shipping address
-
Phone number (for delivery tracking)
-
Prize(s) won
We’ll take care of fulfillment and keep you updated throughout. Please remind your followers that we will never ask for payment or private financial details in order to enter or claim a prize.
FLEXIBILITY & FAIRNESS
We always aim to fulfill the giveaway exactly as planned, but there may be times when we need to adjust due to inventory changes. If a substitution is needed, we’ll communicate with you in advance. Above all, we want the experience to be positive, generous, and true to your creative spirit.
CAMPAIGNS & PAID OPPORTUNITIES
In addition to takeovers and giveaways, we also run special campaigns and paid collaborations that highlight specific products, celebrate moments in the creative calendar, or bring attention to new releases. These opportunities are more structured and often involve deeper storytelling, visual content, or educational engagement.
CAMPAIGNS
From time to time, we launch larger campaigns focused on specific tools, themes, or product lines. These are usually built around a central idea or product—such as a seasonal ink launch, a back-to-school toolkit, or a limited-edition item—and feature multiple artists from different disciplines.
Artists involved in campaigns typically receive material support and are asked to share original content that shows how they use the product in their own voice. These collaborations can include Reels, posts, tutorials, or short writeups for use on our website or in marketing materials.
PAID OPPORTUNITIES
We also offer paid opportunities for artists to develop specific assets or participate in long-term creative projects. These may include things like product photography, educational content, event features, or collaborations tied to new product development.
These opportunities are typically offered to artists we’ve previously partnered with, so we can build on an existing relationship and creative alignment. While they’re limited and project-based, we’re always keeping an eye out for artists whose work, teaching, and storytelling are a strong fit for our brand.
If you’re interested in exploring paid work down the road, a great first step is collaborating through a takeover or giveaway so we can get to know each other creatively.
CONTENT POLICY
Speedball’s social platforms are meant to be inclusive, creative spaces focused on art, process, and community. To maintain this environment, we ask all artists in direct collaboration with us to follow a few important guidelines:
Stay Focused on Art
We encourage authentic storytelling and creative expression, as long as the content aligns with our mission to celebrate art and craftsmanship. Posts should center on your work and creative journey.
Avoid Political Content
To keep our platforms welcoming for a broad audience, we ask collaborators to avoid political commentary or issue-based advocacy during any active collaboration with us.
Be Respectful and Inclusive
Please avoid any content that includes hate speech, explicit material, harassment, or discriminatory language. We want all artists and audiences to feel safe and respected.
Respect Brand Guidelines
When showing tools or materials, Speedball products should be clearly visible or positioned as the primary tools. Other brands may appear in a supporting role, but the focus should remain on your art and our shared collaboration.
Be Transparent
Sponsored content must be clearly disclosed using the appropriate platform tools and tags. Accuracy and honesty help build trust with your audience and ours.
If in Doubt, Ask
We’re happy to clarify anything at any point. If a post doesn’t align with this policy, we may ask that it be edited or removed to protect the integrity of the collaboration.
