CMYK Screen Printing Workshop at Blick Atlanta with Speedball Demo Artist, Melissa Harshman

Layer on the color! Create two CMYK silkscreen prints on 11″ x 14″ archival Arnhem paper using Speedball Permanent Acrylic Screen Printing Inks. Print in Cyan, Magenta, and Yellow using custom screens that are prepared with Speedball Diazo Photo Screen Printing Emulsion.
Then, use Speedball Drawing Fluid and Screen Filler to create a design of your own on a 10″ x 14″ monofilament screen. Print your final design as the final layer using a black or white Keyline color. Take your personalized screen with you and continue printing at your home or studio!
All materials provided and included in ticket price. Workshop recommended for ages 13+
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Melissa Harshman received her MFA from the University of Wisconsin- Madison in 1992. She has taught in the Printmaking and Book Arts Department at the Lamar Dodd School of Art since 1993. Harshman has exhibited widely throughout the United States and abroad. She was honored with the Dedicato a Cortona Award in April of 2017 from the University of Georgia. In 2018 Harshman was awarded a Willson Center for Humanities and Arts Research Fellowship. Her work was recently on display at the Zuckerman Museum of Art in the exhibition “Time Like the Present”, in a group exhibition at Goodyear Arts in Charlotte, NC, and at the Callanwolde Fine Arts Center in Atlanta. She presented a paper on printmakers who incorporate sewing into their work at the Impact International Printmaking Conference in Spain in 2018 and in Chattanooga in 2019 at the SECAC Conference. She was awarded a 2019 Senior Faculty Research Grant titled “Explorations in Papermaking.”
