Discover the world of screen printing. Learn how to burn a silkscreen from your photographs or your own imagery, and the screen is yours to keep. Learn some Photoshop to create a screen, as well as how to use it to print on almost any surface!
Please bring some images either on a thumb drive or in an email. Also feel free to bring fabrics and papers that you can use to print upon.
No experience? No problem! Designed for the true beginner, these affordable 4-week classes are will introduce you to the basic tools and techniques of a particular medium alongside other first-time artists. Whet your appetite, meet some new people, then move on to the main course for a more immersive experience in our Foundation and Classics Classes. Advanced registration required, but these classes are guaranteed to run as long as 1 student is registered.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Gillian Pokalo is an artist and art educator from outside of Philadelphia, where she spends her days being the art teacher at Plymouth Meeting Friends School, and her evenings and weekends bouncing between working in her own studio as well as sharing the joy of printmaking with students in art centers around the Philadelphia area. She relishes the “Eureka!” moment when a student pulls that first screen print!
