Fabric Block Printing Virtual Workshop ZOOM WORKSHOP
May 16 @ 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm
In this three hour virtual workshop via Zoom we will learn the full process of designing, carving and printing on fabric. I will suggest that a tea towel is a great place to start, but a piece of quilting fabric would be just fine too. Any PRE-WASHED fabric item that lays flat and does not have any ruffles, textures or darts will work. We will go through the entire process together and I will teach you all of my favorite top tips.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Susana McDonnell is the owner of LinoCave, a Boston-based home studio focused on geometric pattern design and block printing on fabric. She holds a BFA from the New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University and is a lifelong artist who has studied and taught many mediums including, but not limited to glassblowing, neon, wood, drawing and watercolor. Despite the fact that block printing is one of the few mediums she has not formally studied, the allure of it inspires her to teach and explore it further every day. She is the co-host of #printersolstice, a prompt-based printmaking campaign that inspires printmakers around the world to create during the winter solstice and is also a Speedball Demo Artist.
