Solarplate Monoprints: Magic with Multiples with Jane Pagliarulo

Solarplate etching is an incredibly fast and versatile new way of making non-toxic prints!  A light-sensitive polymer plate is exposed using a small light unit or sunlight.  Artists make prints by exposing the plate through a transparent film with hand-drawn or digital artwork, photographs, or xeroxed images.  This is fairly technical, so it helps if you have experience printing an etching.  Monotype layers take your prints to a new dimension: using soy-based inks, we roll on ink or roll it onto plates, manipulating ink with a variety of mark-making tools.  The results can be bold or subtle.
