The Speedball Professional Brayer was developed with a single goal: to create a tool that meets the exacting standards of serious printmakers while improving accessibility through superior value.

Spanning two years from concept to completion, Speedball enlisted more than a dozen professional artists and educators, working across printmaking techniques, to actively shape every aspect of the brayer’s design.  They tested materials, evaluated balance and pressure, compared rolling performance, providing critical feedback that informed refinements at every stage. Handle ergonomics, roller consistency, weight distribution, and surface responsiveness were all deeply deliberated.
