Mixed Media Monoprint with Carborundum Platemaking with Susan Rostow

Create one of a kind prints or varied editions by combining monotype with safe plate-making methods. Susan Rostow will introduce her latest innovations using Carborundum Gel coated plates in conjunction with the spontaneity of monotype. Demos will include coating and  painting the Carborundum Gel onto plates and drawing into the wet and dry surfaces. 

Participants will explore a variety of inking techniques beginning with a simple single plate to more complex multiple registered plates.

Students will learn about the properties of individual pigments, characteristics of inks, modifiers for additive, reductive and basic viscosity techniques. All materials used in the workshop are fume free and clean up easily with soap and water. Beginners and advanced printmakers are welcome.
