What is the difference between circle and square bats?

Speedball offers round bats in both 12” and 14” sizes, great for larger forms that require more space like plates. Speedball has square bats in a 7.5” size, these are great for smaller items like mugs and can be more efficient spacing for drying work and storing when not in use.

What is the difference between wooden and plastic bats?

Wooden bats are great for drying work by helping absorb some of the moisture in the clay. Plastic bats are more durable for longer term use and come in a wide array of colors to spice up your studio space.

Do Speedball bats fit universal bat pin spacing?

Yes! Speedball Plastic Bats each have two different options for bat pin spacing, 10” denoted by three dots on the edge of the bat, and 9” denoted by one dot on the edge of the bat.
