an inside look
Speedball's Watercolor Paper is one of the many lines that is converted in our manufacturing plant in Statesville, NC. Paper arrives to Speedball in large stacks of sheets to undergo a several step process to reach its final form for use by artists. After initially arriving, the sheets are individually counted and weighed to be organized into set amoutns per stack. The sheets then get cut down to their final size on a large cutter machine and then stacked and hand fed into a gluing machine to bind the edges before having a cover hand applied to complete the process. With employees involved in the process with counting sheets, handling, and applying covers ensures consistent quality standards are met.
