I'm having difficulty replacing my screen's mesh. Any tips?
We recommend getting started at one of the corners of your screen to begin feeding the cord through the channel. Our team members and artists are huge fans of using a window screen rolling tool to help position the cord with greater ease. It's an inexpensive add that is easy to find at any local home improvement store and makes the process much more efficient while getting maximum tension in your screen.
How many times can you reclaim a screen?
There are several factors that contribute to wear on a screen such as the length of the print run, the type of ink used, mesh type, and frame type. While there is no set number of times screens can be reclaimed before they start to wear out due to these variables, we recommend changing to a new mesh after 5 reclaims. However many screens can last much longer than that with proper care and storage.
What do the different mesh count numbers mean?
Mesh count is a measure of how many threads of polyester cross each other per square inch of a screen. The higher the mesh count, the finer the holes are in the screen. Our 110 mesh is what is used in our kits as it is able to achieve the level of detail needed for most home studio projects. We would recommend our higher mesh counts (230 or 305) for images with very high levels of detail.
