Mound, LA

I have a passion for ecology, especially native wildlife.  My work explores the symbolism and strange wonder of the natural world with a nod to folklore. Relief printmaking is ideal for this because the carving and printing processes provide an underlying rhythm and timeless image quality that is unique to this medium.

WHY KATE JOINED THE SPEEDBALL DEMO ARTIST PROGRAM

I was interested in participating in the Speedball Demo Program because I love block printing and I want to spread the joy. I am excited to introduce others to this challenging, but amazing process. The more, the merrier.

Favorite Products

My current favorite is the Speedball Fabric Block Printing Ink in black. It is a crisp black that is super easy to clean in the studio, but still holds up well on fabric. I am also excited to try out the professional relief inks.
