The Speedball story began in 1899 with the C. Howard Hunt Pen Company, but it was a revolutionary collaboration in 1913 that changed the industry forever. By joining forces with master letterers Ross F. George and William H. Gordon, we perfected a nib with a reservoir that was so efficient, it cut working time in half—earning it the nickname "Speedball." Today, we carry that legacy of innovation forward, ensuring every nib, ink, and kit is still proudly crafted in Statesville, NC, with the same commitment to quality that started it all.
